“There is not a day in the past year that I have not thought of the beloved Joseph… Who lost his life after a trick or treat night with his fathers side of the family. This one of the all wrecked me. I cannot even type his name without tears in my eyes over the agony his mother feels over having lost him. The void we all feel having lost him. Wearing teal will never be the same again. It will ALWAYS be for him!”
“As your child gets older, and they become more independent and responsible, don’t relax! According to FAAN, children between the ages of 10 and 19 are at a much higher risk of fatality.”
There is not a day in the past year that I have not thought of the beloved Joseph… Who lost his life after a trick or treat night with his father’s side of the family. This one of the all wrecked me. I cannot even type his name without tears in my eyes over the agony his mother feels over having lost him. The void we all feel having lost him. Wearing teal will never be the same again. It will ALWAYS be for him! I am Sharing a story from a friend on my milk mommies of with her permission: she just talked about how this weekend she had two milk allergy children in the ER this and both were in extremely bad shape. Both had been with family members who had used pasta (the 1) spaghetti (the other) sauces that had been used in the past but the ingredients changed! This is why we must always check every label every time.
Today a friend shared this and again it serves as a reminder. Too many scary allergy death or near misses lately not to share this one. Here I thought we were done with the hardest part the toddlers everywhere sharing each others food & putting everything in their mouths. He was finally, hopefully getting comfortable with the school environment.
This is tragically sad. Please know Connor has this level of sensitivity to milk as Emily to peanuts. Our big concern is milk is in everything from food to soap. Even with all the new food labeling laws these companies still mess up and something as simple as a company saving a few bucks buying a different Carmel color or flavor from the one when they had the packaging done could mean Connor could end up like Emily. It’s not an exaggeration, nor meant to scare but meant to educate, to encourage better food safety guidelines and maybe save a life one day. Learn about anaphylaxis and the signs & symptoms. Learn how to say a life. This is every day of our life that we live and wait for the next time we fight to save our son.
